    About Boeing

    The Boeing Company is a major aerospace and defense corporation, founded by William E. Boeing in Seattle, Washington. Boeing has expanded over the years, merging with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. Its international headquarters has been in Chicago, Illinois, since 2001. Boeing is the largest global aircraft manufacturer by revenue, orders and deliveries, and the second largest aerospace and defense contractor in the world. Boeing is the largest exporter by value in the United States. Its stock is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

    Boeing 787 manufacturing steps

    1. In 2002 sales launch, 800 orders is received for $150 million per one plane.
    2. In summer of 2007 premiere showing of completely assembled plane takes place. 07/08/07-Exact date
    3. First scheduled flight is being moved from the first quater of 2008 to around fourth quarter of 2009.
    4. Delivery to the airlines scheduled for the end of 2010.

    Integrated defense systems

    Boeing IDS is a unit of The Boeing Company responsible for defense and aerospace products and services.
    Integrated Defense Systems was formed in 2002 by combining the former "Military Aircraft and Missile Systems" and "Space and Communications" divisions. Integrated Defense Systems makes Boeing the second-largest defense contractor in the world and is responsible for 56% of the company's income. Boeing IDS is based in Berkeley, Missouri, USA, near the city of St. Louis. Boeing is the largest employer in St. Louis County.
